Description of the apartment
A well organised studio apartment which sleeps up to 6 people with a living room and seperate chambrette (small bedroom). The large south facing balcony (8 m²) gets plenty of sunshine and offers a magnificent view of the pistes. The balcony is large enough to be able to eat there comfortably or enjoy relaxing in the sunshine (Auron, being in the south of the Alps, benefits from a good amount of sun even in winter).

Auron
Auron is a real treasure of a ski resort – it has a beautiful village (traditional rather than purpose built) which is very family friendly with fantastic facilities and restaurants and apres-ski (plenty of bars and 2 night clubs). Auron is located less than 1 h 30mins from Nice which is very accessible with many carriers (including low cost airlines such as Easyjet). Auron has 135 km of pistes – these are interesting and varied over 4 sectors (42 pistes - 9 black, 15 red, 16 blue and 2 green), a Snowpark for boarders and plenty of off-piste possibilities, a childrens club (‘PiouPiou’) with it’s own area reserved for toddlers with the French ski school (ESF). There is also a separate area for sledging.
Auron village is in the Mercantour national park at an altitude of 1600m (2450 m at the top of the pistes). Created in 1937, Auron has kept the charme of a mountain village, the reputation of a quality family friendly resort (there are many activities organised for children bot on and off the pistes), and also a reputation ‘sportive’ – Auron hosted the French Ski Championship last winter.
The ski station itself has enjoyed plenty of investment in recent years with new bigger and faster chair lifts and a number of snow cannons to ensure good snow cover even when there is lower than usual snowfall. Situated in the ‘Alpes Maritimes’, Auron benefits from a good level of sunshine meaning it’s very normal to be skiing in the sunshine in Auron!

Guests comments We had a great week and were very lucky with the
weather - loads of snow for a few days and then some sunshine. Really
enjoyed staying in the apartment and keen to return next year, wishing
we were still there now!
